Patient Case #2107

Early Result Tummy Tuck 4 Days Post with No Drains or Pain Pump Catheters

This 29 y/o woman who lost 100 lbs. is four days after high-lateral and high superior tension tummy tuck. She had no drains or pain pump catheters, because the abdominal flap was reattached to the abdominal wall with progressive tension and quilting sutures, obviating the need for drains. She also had Exparel, long-acting bupivacaine, injected under the muscle fascia, skin and incision which give three days of pain relief and decreases greatly the need for oral pain medication. Without drains and catheters, the quality of the recovery is brought to a higher level, with a greater sense of well being and feeling of moving more quickly toward full recovery.
