Gynecomastia – Male Breast Enlargement Treatment

Vaser® usually most effectively treats this, although Smart-Lipo™ can treat small enlargements. Liposuction or laser alone cannot thoroughly remove breast glandular tissue centered under the nipple, but is excellent at removing enlargement due to fat. Since most men have a combination of fat and glandular tissue, liposuction is done to remove the fat. The remaining breast tissue is removed through a small incision from about 4 to 7 o’clock hugging the lower border of the areola, the pigmented part of the nipple. This leaves a minimally visible scar.

Breast enlargement can be accompanied by drooping and excess skin. Vaser® and Smart-lipo™ can shrink the skin to some degree. The skin contracts over the reduced volume and over a period of months usually shrinks acceptably. If it doesn’t, a second procedure either with vaser or smart-lipo can be done to further shrink the skin. Rarely a skin excision with larger scars is necessary.
