Radiesse™ Treatments at Our Palo Alto Area Center in Mountain View

Like other injectable fillers, Radiesse™ offers patients at our Palo Alto area center a safe and effective alternative to invasive surgical procedures. During your consultation at An Enhanced You, Dr. Lowen can determine which option is appropriate for you and develop an individualized treatment plan to help you meet your goals.

Radiesse™ Treatment Information

Although FDA-approved for vocal cord paralysis, Radiesse™ injections are widely performed for soft tissue augmentation as an off-label use. Composed of calcium hydroxyapetite microspheres in a glycerin gel, Radiesse™ plumps up deep lines and augments deficient soft tissue contours. When placed against bone it becomes firm and can provide deep structure augmentation.

Radiesse™ Benefits

Radiesse™ is recognized for its durability and versatility. The results of treatment are very long lasting and improvement typically lasts for more than a year, and as long as three years in some patients. Because it is developed from a natural substance, there is no skin test needed prior to treatment with Radiesse™, and no allergic reactions have been reported. It provides safe and effective facial contouring, and can be used to treat problem areas like the nasolabial folds, jaw line, and marionette lines around the mouth. Radiesse™ can also be used to produce cheek augmentation and chin augmentation, creating a balanced and attractive appearance.

Radiesse™ treatment is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure performed in the office. At our Palo Alto area center, patients can undergo this convenient treatment in as little as 20 minutes. Additionally, results are immediate and patients only require a few long-lasting treatments, which means Radiesse™ is also cost-effective – saving you time and money.

Radiesse™ Risks

After Radiesse™ treatment, patients may experience temporary swelling and redness, which typically subside in 24 to 36 hours. There may also be some discomfort and bruising. However, normal activities can be resumed immediately following treatment. The development of nodules under the skin which would require steroid treatment or surgical intervention is a potential, but extremely rare, complication of treatment with Radiesse™.
