Liposuction for Men – Removes Unwanted Fat Around the Waist, Abdomen and Breasts

Treatment: Tumescent liposculpture, either by Smart-Lipo™ MPX, or Vaser® ultrasonic liposuction.

These procedures can be done either under local anesthetic, in the case of Smart-Lipo, or general anesthetic for vaser. When men want a comprehensive and extensive removal of fat around the chest, underarms, back, waist and abdomen, it is convenient to do this in one operative stage while asleep under general anesthesia.

Smart-Lipo™ laser lipoplasty is designed to sequentially remove smaller areas. This has a faster recovery than the more extensive procedure. For example, if you want to remove fat around the abdomen and hip rolls or “love handles”, you can do this in one procedure using tumescent, local anesthesia. You take a mild sedative and a pain pill by mouth, and remain awake but relaxed. Then the area of the flanks is anesthetized, and the laser energy is applied under the skin to “melt” the fat. The liquefied fat is gently suctioned out. You then turn over on your back and the same procedure is done on the abdomen. After a few days you can return to normal activity and in about two weeks can start working out.

If you had an additional area, such as the chest to treat, another session would be scheduled. Any two areas can be done at one time, one area being the chest, the abdomen, or both flanks.

During the recovery period, you wear a compression garment, like a vest or body suit that fits under normal clothing without being noticeable. You can start working out 2-4 weeks after the procedure, depending on how strenuous the activity. As the swelling recedes over the next several months, more slimness is visible until the final result at about six months.
