Power-Assisted Removal of Lipoma Through Minimal Incision

This 28 year old woman had a giant lipoma, 9.5 x 8.0 cm of the left upper back. It was treated through a 3/8″ incision hidden underneath the vertical bra strap. After local tumescent anesthesia, power-assisted liposuction was used to debulk and soften the lipoma, after which it was removed with surgical dissection and extrusion under direct vision through the small incision. A drain was placed for several days. There was no bruising or seroma and the patient is seen at three weeks post op.
