63 year-old man treated with lipoma removal

This 63 year-old man had an 8.5 x 8.5 cm lipoma of his right mid back for years and felt great relief when it was finally removed. The Lowen technique was used to remove it through a 2 cm incision, by debulking with power-assisted liposuction, surgical dissection free of surrounding tissue and extracting it in one piece. The cavity was inspected, confirming no residual lipoma, a seroma cath drain was inserted to collapse the cavity. Drain removal will be in one week.
