ThermiTight™: Minimally Invasive Skin-Tightening Mountain View
Dr. Lowen is happy to offer ThermiTight; a minimally invasive procedure that tightens skin with controlled subdermal tissue heating. A tiny incision is made and a very thin probe is inserted directly under the skin. Radio frequency energy is delivered to heat the tissue to the optimal temperature for collagen re-building and tissue contracting. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia right here in our office.
How Does It Work?
ThermiTight produces heat beneath the skin using radiofrequency technology to encourage collagen formation and strength. Although it can be found in many different places of the body, the structural protein collagen is principally responsible for the tight and toned appearance of skin.
ThermiTight is a cutting-edge new technology that uses regulated and quantifiable temperatures to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. As a result, the skin becomes tighter and smoother due to increased collagen synthesis.
ThermiTight is able to provide safe and controlled heat stimulation more effectively, raising the levels of collagen located within the skin itself, by directing radiofrequency beneath the skin with the help of a percutaneous treatment probe (a tiny needle).
Real-time temperature monitoring and precise heat creation beneath the skin’s surface are made possible by the ThermiTight therapy probe. The tool protects against skin damage and burns.
Areas that can be treated:
- Face and neck
- Above the knees
- Loose skin on arms
Is ThermiTight right for you?
If you have mild to moderate loose skin of the face, neck or body, ThermiTight could be the right treatment for you! When surgery is too much, but non-invasive lasers are not improving the area, you may want to consider ThermiTight.
It is vital to be a non-smoker, to be in good overall health, and to have realistic expectations to be a suitable candidate for ThermiTight treatment.
Women who do not intend to become pregnant or breastfeed are ideal candidates for ThermiTight treatment. The best candidates are those who have already reached their target body weight and have no aspirations to lose or gain weight following their ThermiTight treatment session.
What to expect:
For face and neck, you can expect 1-2 weeks of noticeable swelling with possible bruising. Dr. Lowen may suggest a facial compression garment to help alleviate some of the swelling. For the body, you may have some bruising and swelling, but it’s easily covered by clothes. You can typically resume regular activity after 3 days, but we suggest that you refrain from strenuous physical activity for at least 2 weeks to limit unnecessary swelling.
Your tissue needs time to heal! Patients typically start noticing results around 6 weeks, with the full results at 4 months.
