With a Thighplasty, your Legs can look Contoured and Fit

As we grow older, different areas of our bodies begin to change, but there’s one area that changes that many of us don’t think about until it happens, and that is the thigh area. For many people, their thighs remain resilient to the effects of diet and exercise, while accumulating fat over time. Your thighs are a magnet for excess skin, cellulite, and fat cells. This is even more so in people who have undergone significant weight loss.

When cellulite and fat accumulate in your thighs, it can make you appear older and heavier. It would be difficult for you to look as fit as you would like and achieve the body of your dreams. The excess and sagging skin can make you feel self-conscious and less confident about your appearance. While some people have had some luck with eliminating fat from their thighs through diet and exercise, there is hope for others who have not been so lucky.

What is a Thighplasty Surgery?

Also known as the thigh lift, a thighplasty is a plastic surgery procedure that involves removing excess skin and fat from your thighs, leaving you with more accentuated and smoother legs. The ideal candidates for this procedure are those who have saggy, dimpled, and chubby thighs. Other candidates are people who have lost skin elasticity in their thighs due to significant weight loss.

Once the excess fat and skin are removed, your legs will look lean, fit, and more contoured than before. This gives you the opportunity to wear your favorite figure-hugging clothes and tight jeans so you can flaunt your figure.

The Thighplasty Procedure

This invasive procedure involves the use of general anesthesia to help ease any discomfort. The incisions involved depend greatly on the patient’s aspired results. Your surgeon will discuss different types of incisions before the procedure so that they can determine the best type for your case.

There are three types of thighplasty techniques – inner thigh, bilateral thigh, and medial thigh lifts. The inner thigh lift procedure focuses only on your inner thighs. The medial thigh lift procedure involves the removal of fat and the tightening of the skin on the upper parts of your inner thighs. The bilateral thigh lift procedure focuses on both the outside and front of your legs.

During the procedure, an incision is made through which excess fat and skin are removed. The remaining skin is then pulled tight along the leg and the incision is closed. This results in the skin becoming taut and the legs appearing fit and toned.

What to Expect After the Thighplasty

As with all invasive surgeries, you have to give your body some time to heal. Your doctor will give you instructions on how to care for your sutures and when they should be removed.

The results of the thighplasty are noticeable immediately after the procedure. You will see that your thighs will no longer appear flabby or dimpled. Your legs will appear lean, fit, and in better proportion to the rest of your body.

Leaner thighs also mean that you get to wear your favorite clothes again without having to worry about your appearance. People who have undergone thighplasty showed a remarkable increase in self-confidence and pride in their appearance.
