Abdominoplasty Photos - Case #5300

Patient Case #5300

41 year-old woman, 5’6”, 166 lbs., 3 months post drainless tummy tuck with SAFE lipo of waist and flanks. The patient received Exparel injected under the abdominal fascia during surgery for extended pain relief post-op, decreasing her need for narcotic pain meds. The abdominal flap was re-attached to the abdominal wall with progressive tension and quilting sutures so no drains were needed.

Seven weeks after surgery she was T-boned from the side by a car going 45 mph, her car flipped and ended up hanging from her seat belt from the ceiling. Her flap was not disrupted by shearing forces, and she had no major injuries. This illustrates how the drainless tummy tuck rapidly heals back to the abdominal wall, eliminating any chance of seromas, and removing all the discomfort and inconvenience associated with drains.
