Minimal Incision and Power-assisted Liposuction Removal of Lipomas Photos - Case #17331

Patient Case #17331

This was a slowly growing giant lipoma, 8 x 8 cm, of the back of the neck, confirmed benign by MRI. She had been offered surgery under general anesthesia. We discussed the nature of lipomas, with debulking the lipoma as needed and removing it surgically it through a small incision, usually 1/2″ to 3/4 “. A video of the technique can be found on my website. The lipoma was removed through a 1” or less incision with complete removal confirmed by direct inspection with magnification and fiberoptic headlight. A drain was placed and removed in one week at which time the post op pictures are shown. We have not had a recurrence using this technique.
